Abstract


Independent college appears and develops on the background that knowledge economy makes first appearance and in order to increase our comprehensive national power, the government implements the strategy of rejuvenating our country through science and education, makes great efforts to develop the higher education to promote higher education popularization. Its appearance is the result of contradiction between the urgent needs of developing higher education and the limited financial resources as well as the weak original foundation of higher education. The Independent college is the breakthrough, innovation and standards of school-running model.In the recent ten years, our independent college developed rapidly out from nothing. And there are more than 300 Independent colleges in few years; the number of Students is constantly increasing. The Independent college has been accepted widely through great efforts, Meanwhile, as a new thing,, there are many problems and contradictions during the development of Independent colleges. The Ideological and Political education work had become a urgent subject. It is related to whether the Independent college can cultivate qualified talents and whether it can develop healthy and orderly that how can we carry out the Ideological and Political education work according to the shortage of Independent Colleges and the students; characteristics so that we can improve the students’ overall quality and ability in Independent Colleges and provide an effective way to help students’ growth. It has important significance to advance the reform of higher education and promote the healthy development of Independent Colleges as well as training high quality practical personnel that we carry out Ideological and Political education work in independent college well.The first part of this article states the background of selected topic and research significance, explains research status at home and abroad. Meanwhile it introduces research thought and method, and then points out the new ideas of this article. The second part of this article gives the definition of independent college, analyzes the definition and the characteristics of independent college. From this part, we know independent college appears on the basis of education popularization, and the development of independent college has experienced three stages, which are the dependent stage that depend on maternal university to run school, the independent stage that strength autonomy and transition stage that change into non-governmental ordinary university and college. And now it is the five-year transition period, so it is related to its future development direction whether it can switch smoothly. The third part discusses the characteristics of the Ideological and Political education work form three aspects as following:characteristics of students’resources, the students advocate personality freely in school time and there is a good employment prospect. And then emphasizes the differences about Ideological and Political education work between independent college and ordinary university and college.。The forth part discusses the problems about Ideological and Political education work in independent college from eight aspects. They are work concept, education model, management mechanism, teacher’s resources, campus cultural atmosphere, values, psychology and employment. The fifth part gives ten constructive suggestions from reality such as changing our concept, grasping direction, innovating Mechanism, transforming model, optimizing Environment, strengthening teachers’resource, making good use of network carrier, establishing psychological intervention, strengthening students’ career planning and Open Employment Channelsreality, this paper analyzes the development course and background of Independent Colleges, absorbs the best experience, puts forward the effective countermeasure and suggestion on the field about Work consciousness and state-owned assets according to the current academic understanding of the independent colleges, aiming at the Students status and problems at Students Work.
