Abstract


Japanese moral education coordinately developed with social evolution on the whole. Between China and Japan, they have lots of similar historical development setting .For this reason, searching after Japanese moral education’s negative and positive functions during the course of Japanese social development, we can get some references for moral education to promote spiritual civilization in China.The paper discussed and gave some comments on Japanese moral education’s value-orientation from four parts.Part one was probed into moral education’s value-orientation from its interrelated basic concepts. Moral education’s value-orientation is that subject makes his relevant value judgment, choice, and action in accordance with one’s own needs for existence and development in moral education activities. It has social self and individual self value from subject’s social being level.In part two, we first got Japanese moral education’s value-orientation over generally. In pace with Japanese social changes, Japanese moral education’s value-orientation have blendedeastern and western moral education ideology------social self and individual self value------intoan organic whole during the course of three moral education reforms.Evolution processes of Japanese moral education was elaborated in part three. During the first education reform, Japanese moral education’s value-orientation turned from feudal social self value into the Meiji Reform’s individual self value, then to social self value. After the second war, capitalism individual self value was carried out in occupied times. Later, Japan was given independence. Japanese moral education’s value-orientation gradually changed its individual self stand to social self. From the later of 20th century, Japan began to advocated individual, national, international value-orientation in moral education.In part four, three aspects were searched after .First, social background------politics,economics, culture, etc.------on Japanese moral education’s value-orientation evolution in threeeducation reforms were compared , and analyzed features of three Japanese moral education’s value-orientation evolution .Then, from Chinese and Japanese tradition and evolution in moraleducation, we can find out some causes to choose different ways in history. All have provided lessons for us to guide Chinese moral education practice. By means of Japanese moral education’s evolution, we may have a restricted view about trend of universal moral education’svalue-orientation evolution------coexistence and mutual assimilation of individual self and socialself value.
