Abstract


Software test is executing process in order to find mistake. It is important part in software engineering, while software development. In other word, the software tested and testified can ensure and validate quality. And in software engineering, software test is only effective method for validating software design to accord with expect target.Software test has been tens years while the concept of software engineering. In course of, going with software development method, the method of test software has been developing and going up. Whiling it, software test has been divided into many study fields, conventional test methods, object-oriented test method, oriented web application test method, e.g. But a kind of test method orients development method.Recently, based on object-oriented software modeling method has become a study respect in scholars. Overseas Co. Rational have developed Rational Rose tool’s software holding out UML. Internal research institution e.g. Beijing University of Aeronautics &Astronautics software graduate school’s UML-Designer and Peking University computer department’s JBOO3.0. Into the bargain, our lab independence developed sustaining user interface automatic make AUI based on visual modeling.By this narrate, we can know, the activity developing sustaining modeling tools has been expanding, also modeling method. So software test is importance work for validating quality. But these test methods aren’t in suit with testing visual modeling software now, for characteristics on modeling tools. E.g.import specifically, the import is the model built for demand; export specifically, the export is program code for model; multidimensional affect of program modification, e.g. program design, amending modeling method. And it is the most importance peculiarity that instance testing is in order for verify and validate modeling method’s correctness and sufficiency. Thinking of these instances, this paper put forward a TRICHOTOMY TESTING METHOD for visual modeling software.The main work of this paper includes following.? Literature summarizing. It found that test method is not suit of sustaining visual modeling tools by referring literature. In traditional test, white box method verifies structure; black box method tests software designed function. It is important testing content for testing class and class cluster in object-oriented test. For Web application test, testing importance orients net application. For GUI testing, it tests user interface widget mostly.? Proposing TRICHOTOMY TESTING METHOD. It included, first, the theory of modeling software division for model check and GUI testing and the function sustaining modeling, the representation is definition, second, propose whole test process, and embodied it, third, the paper give test analyzing report template, and propose test matter and test principle for modeling software.? Summarizing a mass of result of instance test. It tested AUI in function modeling, object modeling, interaction modeling, user interface template, by beyond 200 user interface instance test from command modeling at AUI to creating code, the paper gave AUI colligation test evaluation via trichotomy testing method. In other side, paper give validity of this method via test AUI based on the method.
