Abstract


This subject is from the project of science and technology of Henan province for tackling key problems named a study of fractal image coding and implementation based on DSP. The primary work is as follows: First, the study of image’s self-similarity; Second, a quick fractal image coding method; Third, digital watermarking techniques based on fractal image coding; Fourth, an implementation of the quick fractal image coding method on the DSPsAt first, the mathematical principle and the advances of fractal image coding are introduced.In the study of image’s self-similarity, a method that estimates image’s self-similarity is presented and the factor denoting the character of image’s self-similarity is defined. Experimental results have shown that the algorithm can evaluate image’s self-similarity character well.Aim to the weakness , long encoding time ,of traditional fractal coding method ,a quick fractal image coding method is presented. The method makes the best of the theorem of Resolution independent in fractal theory. Compared to the traditional coding method, this approach can reduce encoding time efficiently in similar PSNR and compression ratio. And then this quick fractal image coding method is implemented on the DSPs and the code is optimized.In the dissertation of method of embedding watermarking into an image by using fractal compression scheme, this thesis summarizes the theories and the current development status. An improved watermarking technique is proposed . Experimental results have shown that the proposed ways can improve the quality of watermarked images and the robustness of the watermark.
