Abstract

The article expounds the application of the basic principle and method of strategic management in the modern business management to the developmental strategy research of insurance company. Use a great deal of detailed and accurate historical materials to study the present situation, development and change tendency of our country’s insurance business since the reform and open policy from the angle of the open economy comparison perspective. The article has pointed out that there are 68 registered insurance companies who own the total capital amount in insurance of nearly 650 billion Yuan in our country and the scale of insurance premium is 583.1 billion Yuan. However, contrast to the developed countries, no matter the quantity of the companies; the total capital amount and the scale of insurance premium are still very low, seriously lagged behind the development of national economy and it still remains in the primary developing stage of insurance. With the persistent and stable development of the socialistic economy, the insurance market of China is expanding gradually and exceeds the development speed of national economy. The insurance business has gestated large developing space and the potential of insurance market is large as well. With the constant penetration of external open and persistent development of national economy, the insurance business of our country is facing the unprecedented developing opportunity and challenge. On one hand, the persistent development of national economy strongly drives the demand of insurance, so the China’s insurance business is facing the unprecedented developing opportunity. On the other hand, China’entering into the WTO means the competition of insurance is internationalized.
