Abstract


As an important writing techniques , stream of consciousness technique many famous novelist used and has attracted a large number of readers . Stream of consciousness novel focuses on depicting the role of the inner world , the way of free association , rather than a logical order to reveal the role of feelings, thoughts and behavior , usually without the author's objective comment . Patrick White, stream of consciousness in his novel proficient skills , he was recognized as one of Australia 's most outstanding novelist , his novel \. This paper first examines the characteristics of the stream of consciousness novel , pointed out the difference between it and the traditional novel , and then explored in depth the stream of consciousness novel techniques : free association , inner monologue , montage , and a dream : and through practical examples each method is the use of skills in detail . Meanwhile, the paper also analyzes two of this stream of consciousness novel narrative form : Impressionist colors and poetic tendencies .
