Abstract


Objective: To study tumor mutations of the mitochondrial DNA D - loop region , and to explore the relationship between mitochondrial DNA mutations in tumorigenesis and development . Objects and methods : random selection of 20 cases of colorectal cancer , 10 cases of breast cancer and its corresponding adjacent normal tissue using denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography ( DHPLC ) screening for the study, mutations in the sample , and DNA sequencing to determine mutation. Results: 20 cases of colorectal cancer in three cases the presence of mutation, the mutation rate of 15% . 1 cases of the presence of mutations in 10 patients with breast cancer , 10% of the mutation rate . Were detected mutation sites 8 , a mtDNA database undocumented . Mutations are base transition . Conclusion : mitochondrial DNA D- loop region is a highly polymorphic region mutations , may play a role in colorectal cancer and breast cancer .
