Abstract


This article explores the metaphor of the formation and characteristics of the point of view of the school and from the cross - cultural communication and language Metaphor of English understanding , translation standards and translation methods . Metaphor is a common phenomenon in language , metaphor has been studied for more than two thousand years of history , but has traditionally been limited to rhetoric field . With the linguistic turn of Western philosophy , as well as the rise of the new discipline of semiotics , cognitive psychology , philosopher , semiotician , psychologists and linguists all have concerns metaphor, from a multi-disciplinary, multi-level , multi-angle to explore the nature of metaphor , functions and working mechanism . Richards and Lakoff occur from the language point of view of science and cognitive linguistics research on the cognitive function of metaphor , and opened up a new world of metaphor research . The metaphor is not only just a linguistic phenomenon , more importantly, is a universal human way of thinking , a cognitive means . It is based on a \Thinking reflects a certain cultural characteristics of the speech community , the metaphor is a cultural act , contains a wealth of cultural connotations . Pragmatic learning task is to find and study a different language and culture and how to use the different language criteria . From Pragmatic Perspective of metaphor exists in a context of the sentence -level phenomenon , the context is a metaphor for a specific conditions , to understand metaphors key is to find the association between the context containing the metaphorical meaning of the sentence . Different cultural context for the metaphorical use of different soil , but also makes the metaphor with different characteristics . The translation is the exchange of different cultures bridges . In the process of translation , the translator should be on the practical application of its communicative function of metaphor in the specific environment Note issued to capture as much as possible primitive Earth truthful information , and flexible use of the translation method to avoid mistranslation .
