Abstract


The blank space in the visual communication is a background behind of graphic and written language. Blank space appropriate application make people pay more attention to the subject thing even better. It is clear to express the idea and theme. In the graphic design, the blank is a part of the graphic, and a background which sets off the subject thing too. In the format design, the blank is the main component making the picture easy to read. Do not have blank space and have no figure and characters, have no graphic comparison with background, empty comparison with reality, too. The blank space seems "empty ", in fact an outstanding one is "reality ". The ingenious application of the blank space, can transfer the "empty space" to" reality space", create wide imagination space for reader. The visual communication design is formed by the design of each element and lay out of each element association, the goal is to become a harmonious whole of all essential element organizations. As an essential element of the visual communication design, Blank space is also the media of transmitting information like such key elements as the graphic and written language, etc. The Blank space is the important element making the picture succinct and legible and enriches the picture artistic conception. In the design, the blank space is usually easy to be neglected, so the designer should pay more attention to the management of the blank space in the works. So that Let the design works reaches the greatest result of demanding on the basis of according with visual reading habit. Different blank space will produce different visual psychology experiencing and aesthetic quality. in the visual communication, we should design the blank space with intension according to the styles and the content required, let blank space rich expression.
