Abstract


Distance education is an important complement of the traditional education, and practical teaching is the essential part of teaching. Therefore, it is a significant project to build online training platform in distance education so that students can do experiments on line.Online training platform is based on network. It uses network instead of real experiments and provides the remote visiting service for experimental projects. It is an irresistible trend, because it can solve quite a few problems caused by lack of real experimental resources.Training platform is not limited by time and space, because it takes advantage of internet. It outweighs traditional face-to-face practical teaching. There is no need for colleges to buy expensive software and hardware. It provides platforms for service, and serves students with Web software. online Training platform focuses on information-based service for different major students. It is multi-architecture, multi-modeled, cross-region, cross-platform and even multi-lingual.Compared with traditional experimental teaching, online training platform has advantages as follows:1) It is not limited by training time and space. It improves practical teaching efficiency, and cultivates students’hands on capability as well as problem-solving ability.2) It emphasizes“network is experimental instruments”. The students in distance education don’t worry about lack of experimental conditions due to the construction of virtual labs online.3) It is characterized with openness and sharing. The students can be provided more chances to do experiments. What’s more, the experimental scope and subjects are broadened.Based on current online techniques, this paper designs the safe, flexible, open, cross-platform and cross-region online training platform based on framework of SOA. Online training platform provides virtual experimental surrounding and remote real experiments. Virtual experiments provide simulation software for network and hardware, and remote real experiments make it possible to do real experiments by login onto remote equipments. The platform provides all kinds of management, such as, practical teaching program, practical teaching equipment, network security, curriculum design, user authority management.The online training platform has many strong points, such as, remote visit, remote virtual experiment. It can solve some problems caused by lack of experimental resources in vocational colleges.
