Abstract


As China’s population and family planning work changes from the management- oriented mode to a service-oriented type, more and more on-site services come into being. How to precisely locate each and every client turns out a key to improve work efficiency.E-maps provide a graphical approach to spot all the target clients within a region, their address details as well as the precise route to reach them. At the same time, it is organically combined with database technology, so that users obtain corresponding information in the database by easy operations like a click or a drag in the e-maps to spot and mark out quickly a target location on the map.Our provincial population and family planning system applies a unified management software. The access database is used at present, with various detailed information of target clients, such as their home address and family members. Accordingly, Delphi and MapX are combined together to have developed an " Integrated Population Positioning System ", which, once bound with the existing database, will offer inquiry, location, statistical services on the basis of a name, ID number, etc., or generate necessary maps to find a target client quickly and accurately Main functions of the "Integrated Positioning System":The Eagle view function: distribution of people within the whole region clear at a glance, maps free to enlarge, reduce or rotate;Map editing function: allowing users to quickly and easily add or delete new residents to adjust household distribution;Picture exporting function: supporting e-maps to generate documents in various formats for easy storage and usage;Printing function: allowing print-out of e-maps to facilitate grass-roots staff;Statistical function: for common statistics, and demonstration in pies or bars;User management function: allowing different users to complete their respective assigned tasks;Fingerprint recognition function: comparing fingerprints of target clients to data in the fingerprint database to quickly determine identity of certain clients and prevent impersonation;Data binding function: allowing users to quickly and easily associate the map households with personnel information in the database, and, binding may also be undone;Data entry function: information like fingerprints, etc. can be input into the data.This thesis describes the implement of the system and its functions. With its highly specific applications, the system embodies a great promotion value within the population and family planning field. The provincial unified database makes it possible to spread and promote the system easily in Henan province.
