Abstract


Objective: Analysis the clinical manifestation of postmenopausal ovarian tumors as well as the nature and histopathological features of ovarian tumors among different ages.Methods:Between January 2008 and December 2010, 269 patients with ovarian tumor operated in Dalian Maternity Hospital.All the patients were naturally menopausal.The diagnosis were confirmen by operation and pathologic analysis.Ovarian tumors using the 1973 WHO classification criteria for pathological classification. Statistical analysis were performed by woftware SPSS 11.5.General information and clinical data using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation),X2 test was used in diversity of the mean compariaion,p〈0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:1. The clinical manifestations and complications of postmenopausal ovarian tumors: 269 patients in this group of postmenopausal patients with ovarian cancer, 117 cases (43.49%) patients without any clinical symptoms, gynecological examination found pelvic mass; more than 152 cases (56.51%) had clinical symptoms to hospital for treatment, mainly for abdominal distension, abdominal pain, lack of specificity, and part of the performance of postmenopausal vaginal bleeding, abdominal mass accidentally hit the other with abdominal sense of falling, low back pain, backache, frequent urination, vaginal discharge, fever, anorexia, weight loss and fatigue.2. Menopausal complications in patients with ovarian cancer: The torsion of ovarian tumors in 7 cases, including 5 cases of benign ovarian tumors, malignant ovarian tumor in 2 cases. 3. Postmenopausal patients with ovarian cancer histological distribution: postmenopausal patients with benign ovarian tumors based, 187 cases (69.52%); borderline tumors in 16 cases (5.95%); malignant tumors in 66 cases (24.53% .) Histological type of epithelial tumors of 145 cases (53.90%), sex cord stromal tumors in 39 cases (14.50%), germ cell tumors 77 (28.62%) and other 8 cases (2.98%).4. Menopausal age distribution of patients with ovarian tumors and ovarian tumors Pathology: benign ovarian tumors in postmenopausal women in each age group were the highest incidence of malignancy in the〈50-year group, the highest incidence rate of 35.76%, at 65 the lowest age group, incidence of 18.18%; the incidence of malignant tumors increased with age overall downward trend.Conclusion:1. Clinical manifestations of ovarian cancer in postmenopausal occult, the lack of specific symptoms or no symptoms, regular gynecological examinations in women after menopause is very important.2. Complications in patients with ovarian cancer in postmenopausal primary torsion of ovarian tumors, benign ovarian tumors was higher in malignant ovarian tumors.3. The majority of the postmenopausal ovarian tumors in histiological classification are epithelial tumours, followed by germ cell tumors and sex cord-stromal tumors.4. The majority of the postmenopausal ovarian tumors are benign tumors, the incidence of malignant ocarian tumor is the highest in〈50-year-group, cancer increases with age but decreased.
