Abstract


This paper firstly introduces the state of development of highway tolling system at home and abroad. It analyzes toll collection mode, charge method, way of paying and pass voucher. In this paper, the intelligent transportation systems all over the world are compared and analyzed. Through discarding the dross and selecting the essential, the paper put forward a new intelligent charging system of highway. At the same time, the paper makes a reliable study about the vehicle classification which is the core of the intelligent charging system of highway and designs a new-style motorcycle type classifier. The classifier has been verified by on-the-spot tests. The paper introduces the history, the present situation and the future thrust of intelligent transportation. Combining with our country’s new vehicle classification system, the paper give us a reference to the work principle, key technology and operating procedure of the intelligent transportation. At last, the paper analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of the new vehicle classification system which will be improved gradually in the future
