Abstract


The financial crisis in Southeast Asia to the East Asian economies in 1997 caused a huge impact to the East Asian countries to bring a painful lesson . East Asia in the context of economic globalization and regional economic integration , strengthening cooperation in the economic field , to carry out monetary cooperation in East Asia is a big trend . Scholars of East Asian currencies in collaboration substantial and in-depth research , draw a lot of constructive conclusions , but also has some disadvantages . For the lack of these studies , mainly through the optimal currency area theory and Logit regression model theoretical and empirical analysis of monetary cooperation in East Asia . The first part of this paper a simple introduction to the theory of optimum currency areas , then the use of the theory of optimal currency area criteria , a comparative analysis of some of the key indicators of the same before the EU monetary integration in East Asia , and concluded , East Asia has basically reached the conditions for monetary cooperation . The rest of this article with the Logit regression model , the combined impact of monetary cooperation in East Asia, a variety of qualitative factors and quantitative indicators do regression analysis , the regression results significantly various factors , and then analyze the impact of these factors on the East Asian monetary cooperation direction and intensity , and the marginal effect analysis . In this part , the focus of the analysis of qualitative factors on the impact of monetary cooperation in East Asia . The last part of this paper is mainly combined with China 's actual situation , analyze the qualitative factors affecting China's participation in the East Asian monetary cooperation , pointed out that China 's deficiencies in these areas , and to analyze the reasons , and then pointed out that these qualitative factors improved direction , so that conducive to China's participation in the East Asian monetary cooperation . Finally, this paper put forward some policy suggestions on China 's participation in the East Asian monetary cooperation . The major innovation in the proposed method is to combine a variety of qualitative factors and quantitative indicators Logit regression analysis , which make up the current domestic and international monetary cooperation in East Asia qualitative analysis and quantitative research out of the status quo .
