Abstract


Subject to the funding and management philosophy and other reasons, the Students’ Information Management Systems (hereinafter referred to as the system) used in the two- or three-year colleges are some out-of-date products that are still in the initial stage. Along with the development of education system, the management of Students’ information needs new management philosophies and methods and accordingly requires new systems to support. This article is trying to adopt some new software engineering methods to reduce lead-time and risks in development, which exists in a whole system developed with traditional software engineering methods.This article introduces industry-leading agile practices and UCD practices, highly focuses on achieving customer value, labours in avoiding wasting during development and pays attention to the system’s usability and user experience. Meanwhile, with the help of the idea of workflow and the new management philosophy, the traditional trivial management of Students’ information is combed into fixed process. In the article, the author also explores how to reduce the working arbitrary, how to improve efficiency, eliminate information silos and the way to avoid errors.The System uses the C/S structure, combined with second and third layer structure, both to reduce development effort and secure key business and information. At the code level, the System adopts a variety of design patterns to reduce code coupling and improve flexibility. The TDD and the LLT practices used in the developing process can eliminate defects as early as possible, reduce the number of defects and improve the System’s usability.With the most-valued required to be met in the fast developing time and improvement in using, the above mentioned system realizes the informationization and standardization of students’ information management, achieving good results in daily use.
