Abstract

Microbial flocculant is a class with flocculating activity of biological substances produced by microorganisms , it is the use of biotechnology , from micro-organisms or their secretions extraction , purification and a new water treatment agent . With a non-toxic , efficient , no secondary pollution and biodegradable characteristics , it is expected to become the product of the upgrading of the existing chemical flocculants . In this paper plate dilution method 60 strains isolated from soil and activated sludge . Single strains were cultured in a specific medium , to train on the flocculation of kaolin suspension effect as a measure of the strain flocculating activity and flocculant , from which the final selection of 4 flocculant flocculation effect efficiently generates bacteria preliminary identification of four flocculant producing bacteria belonging to Bacillus subtilis ( Bacillus sp . ) Bacteria culture conditions and flocculation effect factors were investigated in this experiment , and microbial flocculant best conditions determined by orthogonal experimental design . The microbial flocculant real wastewater experiment , the results indicated that the strain on the ability to remove suspended solids in the water , and the focus Outsider effluent decolorization ability . Compared with the traditional inorganic flocculants , microbial flocculants with less. The binary composite flocculant also to improve wastewater treatment effect , reduce the total use of flocculants .
