Abstract


Objective observation of melatonin on in vitro cultured human retinal pigment epithelial cell growth, proliferation, the influence of searching for drugs for prevention and treatment of hyperplastic vitreous retinopathy. Methods respectively to different concentrations of melatonin (0125250500 ng L < sup > 1 < / sup >) in vitro culture of retinal pigment epithelial cell culture fluid, with 4 methyl thiazole salt after 72 h (determined by MTT colorimetric method in automatic enzyme standard meter measurement at 540 nm absorbance values of A, and calculate the different concentration under the condition of cell proliferation inhibition rate. Results under different concentration of melatonin inhibits retinal pigment epithelial cell proliferation, and there is a dose - effect relationship and differences between groups compared with the control group with significant difference (P lt; 0.01). Conclusion melatonin can restrain in vitro cultured human retinal pigment epithelial cell proliferation, and can be used as prevention and treatment of proliferative vitreous retinopathy of candidate drugs for further research.
