Abstract


Talking about Japanese film, we can not forget the name of Ozu Yasujiro and Akira Kurosawa, and we can not forget the glory of Japanese film that the film Rashomon brought. Forty years later we paid close attention to Japanese film again just because of the film HANA-BI and its director Takeshi Kitano, the famous Japanese cross-talking artiste. Today everyone was chasing his personality, and Takeshi Kitano established his space in the film stage of the world depending on his personality. Although critical circles gave his films different comments, we can not deny the deep impression to the audience and the big success in box office.Rebellion and regression were the theme of Takeshi’s films. In 1994, Takeshi met with traffic accident. The writer regarded the year as his films’ boundary line. Films before this year expressed thoroughly rebelling manner, and the characters were always walking bravely to death. However, films after the year expressed more longing for life at the base of the rebellion theme. And rebelling to life turned to a kind of bearing manner. The writer named it with regression. The description of violence expressed special state of life, unfolding fragile life. At the same time, death referred to men’s living value. Under the threat of violence and death, soft-heartedness and humor made the audience feel life’s cruelty and beauty, thinking about the living value.This serious and cruel theme was displayed in poetic and pictorial splendor, which was Takeshi’s special aesthetic style. Numerous narrating styles, special shot ways, symbol characters and imagery portraits, all of these were serving for the films’ theme. Two kinds of aesthetic styles were integrated together perfectly in those films, death and soft-heartedness, cruelty and splendor. These two styles formed powerful sight tension and feeling tension, which lashed spectators’ cranial nerve and retina.Special living feeling, acting idea, characters and camera lens formed Takeshi’s personality. Rebellion was his films’ important character. Rebellion in inheriting,returning in rebelling, this is Takeshi’s films’ jumping-off point and regression point.Personality brought up Takeshi. You can dislike his films, but you will remember his films.
