Abstract

Azo dyes are widely used in the textile and paper industry, the main source of the dye in the environment dyeing wastewater, and some dyes may be carcinogenic, teratogenic effects, dye wastewater treatment become a focus of environmental issues. Most of the dye is hard to chemical degradation or photodegradation, and having a nonbiodegradable, conventional biological treatment process is difficult to remove the dye substances in the wastewater. When the the dye wastewater ozonation process is carried out under ultrasonic irradiation conditions, produce large amounts of free radicals in the solution, in addition, the ultrasonic radiation to accelerate ozone mass transfer rate to the solution to improve the degradation rate; ultrasound and ozone joint system having synergy. In this paper, methyl orange solution simulated dye wastewater, under different experimental conditions to study the effect of ultrasound / ozone system decolorization, decolorization by ultrasound / ozone system, established the kinetics of methyl orange decolorization mode to obtain the reaction rate constant and ozone mass transfer coefficient. And ultrasonic radiation, ozone mass transfer kinetics in different pH, ultrasonic power, gas ozone concentration and gas flow conditions, the establishment of the corresponding mathematical model. According to the model can be obtained under the conditions of ultrasonic radiation of ozone in the water from the decomposition reaction rate constant and the mass transfer coefficient of ozone to the water. Through the experiment, we can get the following results and conclusions: (1) ultrasound has significant strengthening effect of ozone oxidation of methyl orange decolorization, decolorization process in line with the apparent pseudo-first-order reaction. When the initial pH of the dye solution in the range of 5.5-9.7 changes, the methyl orange decolorization rate is almost no change has little impact, free radical scavengers for decolorization efficiency, indicating that the reaction mechanism of ozone and methyl orange is a direct reaction rather than the decomposition of ozone caused by radical reaction. With the increase of ultrasonic power, the role of ultrasound enhanced the decolorization efficiency improved significantly; elevated ozone gas flow, the faster the bleaching of methyl orange; addition, the concentration of ozone gas have a significant effect decolorization , the greater the gas ozone concentration of methyl orange decolorization more quickly, but methyl orange decolorization rate decreased as the initial concentration of dye to improve. (2) in the study ultrasound / ozone oxidation of methyl orange decoloration on the basis of determining the fast reaction conditions the reaction zone and the instantaneous reaction zone to provide a method of determining the reaction rate constant of the reaction system and the mass transfer coefficient of ozone absorption method, and further validate the ultrasound strengthening effect, ultrasonic power and ozone gas flow for the mass transfer of ozone mass transfer. The results showed that the ultrasonic power and gas flow increases to improve the ozone mass transfer rate.
