Since the 1990s, body image become increasingly popular research. Body image is a person how to treat their own bodies, how the relationship with their own bodies, is familiar is intimate, is satisfied, or unfamiliar, hostile or offensive. A person's body image and mental health are closely linked, the body has a kind of emotional and cognitive, it will have what kind of mental state. As most closely with the body art majors, physical appearance in their learning and future development plays an important role in the psychological health of their greatest impact. Although foreign body like a lot of research on, but our research in this area has just started, and more concentrated in the medical and cosmetic fields, for art majors body image is still a novel research topics. This study art majors this special group, as its body condition, mental health and their relationship empirical research, clinicians and educators in the art majors health education, prevention of mental illness , diagnostics provide theoretical support. This study used a questionnaire and interview studies, surveys mainly Multidimensional Relationship Questionnaire self-body, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Short Scale and mental health symptom checklist of three sections collect data through the body image assess body image concerns as independent variables, art majors mental health research ideas as the dependent variable, for each variable regression analysis. Interview study were randomly selected from all colleges and universities Shanghai four art majors to - face interviews, information collection, as a supplementary questionnaire. By comparing with the ordinary art majors majors body image and mental differences on the level of each index, as well as case studies, the following conclusions: 1. Compared to ordinary college students, art majors actually leaner body, but the body was more like the situation worse, more worried about fat and tend to overestimate their weight, focus on physical fitness and health evaluation are lower than normal group; psychological poorer health, have reached a significant difference. 2. Art Major girls than boys are more concerned about their appearance, but the body satisfaction than boys. 3. Art Major lower grades of body image and mental health conditions are better than higher grades. 4. Body image and mental health conditions were extremely significant positive correlation. 5. Attention to mental health disorders have a good predictive role of body image concerns have a good score for mental predictor of quality, ideal for inside and outside the BMI index forecast to have a good effect, health concerns have a good forecast for the neurotic effect.
