Abstract


Nowadays the importance of social workers in realizing social care and in eliminating unharmonious factors is emerging, as the times of constructing harmonious society of socialism goes on. Under the specific social background, this paper focuses on demonstration studies, choosing the social workers’ quality development as its study subject.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction. It briefly presents us the origin, the background, the current situation, the significance and the methods of this research. It also defines some relevant concepts.The second chapter is about the emerging of social workers and their development of professionalization. It reviews the process and development of social workers’ professionalization. It also reveals the common developing process and laws for social workers’professionalization and specialization. Then it gives a bright direction for the development of social workers’professionalization and emphasizes the importance of the present social workers’ quality development in China.The third chapter concerns the specific quality requirement of the present social workers in China. It details the rising social problems in the conversion period of China. It also points out the characteristics of service subjects faced by Chinese social workers. And it puts forward some specific quality request which offers enough evidence for the now social workers to do pertinent quality development.The fourth chapter is the current survey and result analysis about the social workers’ quality development in China. Based on the questionnaire and interviewing results about Shanghai social workers’ quality development, it analyzes its current situation from the following three aspects: the basic condition of social workers, the intention of quality development and the situation of development in reality. It then points out the existing problems in the process of social workers’ quality development, with the combination of current information.The fifth chapter is the several concerns about the existing problems in the process of s social workers’ quality development in the previous chapter. It points out some problems about relationship in the process, such as the relationship between organization development and individual development, the relationship between theory and practice and also the relationship between internationalization and nationalization.Through demonstration survey, this paper is expected to enhance the pertinence and validity of the present social workers’ quality development based on its current information.
