Abstract

Neuroscience is the study of nervous system structure and function of a new interdisciplinary science, people from different structural level study of nervous system function of a research network level information processing mechanism has become Biological Sciences The study of one of the fronts. This paper using multi-electrode array (MEA) technology, real-time lossless recording cultured hippocampal neurons network issued an electrical signal, and then research network activity patterns of neurons. From the recorded signal detected spikes (spike) will encounter two difficulties: the baseline drift caused by the cyclical oscillation of the local field potential, and the the spike waveform change caused by the differential effect of the solution - Electrode - cell systems. In order to correctly extract the spike after a comprehensive comparison of threshold detection method, peak detection method, this paper proposes an improved detection scheme. It is an effective solution to the adjacent peak detection window duplicate detection, and improve computing speed; improvement program the false alarm rate and false negative rate below the conventional threshold detection method, and it is affected by the signal-to-noise ratio relative to the threshold detection method less affected. Spike interval (ISI) histogram of the outbreak (burst) duration of the outbreak interval statistics (IBI) and spike interval sequence autocorrelation coefficients (SCCs) and other analytical tools, and made higher than the structure of the time of the outbreak of hippocampal neurons in-depth analysis and study of the outbreak of the front and rear discharge mode changes. The results show that: Although the outbreak is compact issued spike, but there are still a few ms refractory period; resting between adjacent outbreak is generally a few hundred ms; the cyclical outbreak issuing, within the same network, The outbreak of the same cycle. Through the analysis of the outbreak of the process of the formation of multiple neurons, summed up the two types of neurons outbreak discharge: the first type, from single to intensive issued, the final form of the outbreak, experienced three processes; second type issuing from a single direct the formation of the outbreak, only experienced two processes no intensive issued. Analysis of one type of neuron formation outbreak before and after the procedure, found: mean spike interval gradually decreases; emergence of two new features, compact spike issuance and the outbreak of the interval is relatively stable; the adjacent spike interval from correlation is small to show a strong negative correlation neurons result alternating continuous issuance of the spike and the outbreak of the resting period.
