Abstract


Urban color is the direct reflection of our city. There were their own original color characteristics on the building in China, and most of city in China had their own styles of color. In recent years, with the quickening of the urban construction speed and the introduction of the ideological trend of western building, urban color appears littery and unordered. And there is not effectual means to manage the forming and development of. urban color. Under this background, this text launchs the research on urban color design guidelines. Before the research, it summarizes relevant color theories, color theories are the foundation of urban color design guidelines. In the research on urban color design guidelines, it analyses the theories, procedures, and contents of guidelines operation at first. The emphases of this text are the research on the main points of guidelines, and it divides the whole urban color design guidelines into three steps according to the range of their effect, which are urban whole color design guidelines, urban divisional color design guidelines and urban public space color design guidelines. The whole city color design guidelines emphasizes on the unification of color feeling in the whole city with a basal tone. In urban divisional color design guidelines, the focal point is to make all kinds of dividing areas have one’s own color characteristics on the basis of harmonizing every area’s relation, certainly these color characteristics are according with their own function. In urban public space color design guidelines, it ensures the fundamental tone of public space and the range of interspersed color. And then, there is a set of comparatively precise guidelines for the design and use of urban color. This text only does preliminary research on urban color design guidelines, and hopes offer certain references on the management of urban color design and use.
