Abstract


The red brick house of Minnan is a result of certain natural conditions and social conditions. It gathers and falls in the country champaign, twinkled under the bamboo among forest. The red wall and coattail seem slim and ethereal under the sky and more and more recognition has been put on it because of its especial values of art and research. Its art values just appear by the local traditional architectural materials that are finely carved by skilled artisans. This article’s aim is to explain the expressive force of art during the local machining and construction by the understanding the performance of traditional material. The author hopes to provide an instructional elicitation on the protection and development of the red brick house by researching the expressive force of its traditional architectural material. Moreover, the author expected to provide some consultable datum for the modern architectural design. In the beginning of this article, author introduces the background, purpose and meaning of her research. In the second part, it’s art characteristics is presented, meanwhile, it’s procreant reasons, the most important of which is educed as the architecture materials, are analyzed. The third part, an analyzed to art expressive force of the houses’traditional architecture materials, makes a good prepare for the next charters about the research from traditional craftworks. In the fourth part, author sets forth the art expressive force about the tectonic traditional architecture materials in the skills of construction and decoration. The fifth part emphasizes on the author’s locale investigation and in the final part of this article, author summarize the exploitation meaning of modern resources within the art expressive force of the houses’traditional architecture materials.
