Abstract

In each specific application environment, the video data compression, storage, transmission, using different formats and standards. Digital video signal compression encoding different standards and formats, transparent to the user in many applications, the need for compressed video stream transcoding process. Compressed video transfer code is processed into a compressed video stream of a standard or format more adapted to a particular application environment of another standard or format compressed video stream. Compressed MPEG video series coding standard frame structure, data stream format, codec process were described in detail and summary and analysis of the MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards similarities and differences, below the transcoding work laid the foundation. Compressed video transfer code divided into two categories: one is the compression format of the encoded video streams from a transmission environment converted into a compressed format suitable for another transmission environment, called similar video transcoding; and the other compressed video stream from a certain kind of standard into another standard, called the different types of video transcoding. Similar video transcoding studied under the same coding standard compressed video stream format transcoding any size transcoding, bitrate transcoding, and interlaced / progressive scan conversion. Motion vector reuse any size conversion ratio of any rational L / M pixel domain transcoding algorithm, as well as for any size codec algorithm. The motion vector reuse algorithm saves a large amount of computation, and the video quality and completely re-motion estimation codec video quality difference is small, the method is often used in the codec. In addition, the code of revolutions of the DCT domain than the pixel domain transcoding Save the DCT / IDCT transform Dui, the computational complexity can be reduced, therefore paper also discusses the DCT domain transcoding processing method, including the DCT domain image sampling (mainly for the transformation ratio compared to simple the case), the DCT domain inverse motion compensation and DCT domain motion compensation algorithm. MPEG-4 has a variety of advantages can be obtained in many areas of the network video transmission, storage and Clips widely used. Many video streams are compression-encoded according to the MPEG-2 standard, and therefore the research and development of highly efficient MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 compressed video transfer transcoder is necessary. For different types of video transcoding, MPEG standard video Circulation Code for background, MPEG-2 to MPEG-4SP @ ML (Simple framework of the main stage, Simple Profile @ Main Level) transform coding. First the similarities and differences of the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standard algorithm were compared and analyzed some of the key issues in the design of transcoding, deduce the structure of the five pixels and DCT domain transcoding, and five transcoder performance were analyzed and compared. Each transcoding structure is a compromise method of computational complexity and video quality, advantages and disadvantages. Codec structure in front of comparison, the choice of the the rapid cascade omitted motion estimation based on the pixel domain transcoding architecture as an experimental MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 compressed video circulation code of transcoding structure. This transcoding structure based on semantic layer codec conversion, coding mode reuse, reused motion vector the DCT coefficient processing technology made in-depth study. One of the key algorithms include: motion vector reuse frame mode conversion, mixed block processing and DCT coefficients mapping. The motion vectors reuse can
