Abstract


As the development of IT and computer technologies as well as the popularization of Internet, online exam conforms to the networking tendency of society and is bound to be an indispensable testing way. The problem of online-exam will have a profound influence on the development of modern E-Learning. The paper summarizes the following issues arising from the extensive investigation on the current Web-Based Exam System. The variance of developing standard, management specification, and framework hinders the sharing of test question resources which lead to the redeveloping of the resources. The multimedia resources such as picture, flash, audio and video is not exploited sufficiently. The strategy of test paper producing is too simple to be flexible. As one part of online learning system, Web-Based Exam System is expected to be intelligent, that is to say, it can arrange the appropriate exams according to the learning capability and academic level. Aiming at the problems mentioned above, starting with designing a standardized Web-Based Exam System, combing the related E-learning standardization home and aboard, the paper probes the technologies of test questions resources description and standardization and proposes the standard model of Web-Based Exam System. Furthermore, it adopts the strategy of Scheduling test papers based on genetic algorithms and actualizes the universal Exam System which is on the grounds of .NET platform and integrates C/S with B/S. It makes the best use of multi-resources and produces the test-question creator. What’s more, the intelligent teat-paper scheduling module improved upon GA can meet the requirement of perfecting the online test-question creation. Web-Based Exam System provides an effective evaluating measure for the implementation of network teaching and it is of important significance to promote education socialization and modernization. The scheme of Web-Based Exam System referred to in the paper can be applied in the E-learning field.
