Abstract


The web-based geographic information system (WebGIS) is a hotspot of GIS technology, and take full advantage of the convenience of World Wide Web technology in information dissemination, information low cost, easy to use, with the help of the World Wide Web platform directly for a huge number of non-professional users provide services, it is suitable for the development of geographic information systems for public service; With advances in computer technology, network information construction continued to move forward, and its prospects are very bright, has great potential. However, under the present conditions of its application has some obstacles, mainly public had doubts about its security problems that may exist, is usually considered in relation to confidential data or intellectual property rights need to be protected, not suitable for this technology. The tourism resource information is a distinctive feature of the geographic information, one is not troubled confidentiality or intellectual property protection, the second is just the need for the public service, wide publicity to the community to achieve its commercial value. So, the WebGIS technology applications in the field of travel resource information released, a full feasibility and necessity. Hunan Province is a tourist resources Province, the tourism industry is a strong province, and WebGIS technology tourism resources online information publishing, can undoubtedly be helpful for the development of the tourism industry in Hunan Province, so as to serve the development of the local economy. Therefore, the selected architecture rigorous, outstanding performance web-based geographic information system platform, developed by the U.S. ESRI's ArcIMS software, combined with the Hunan Provincial Tourism data and basic geographic data, the development of the Hunan Province tourism resources online publishing system.
