Abstract

This paper describes an ARM7 core processor based on the development of USB host system. The core of the host system implements USB driver, host controller driver and the user program to support Mass Storage device class protocol, and in the system set up to streamline the FAT file system, can achieve a U disk to read data and write another a U disk function. USB development in the traditional sense is only the development of USB devices, such as designing a Flash card. Architecture in USB, USB devices can not initiate or control a USB transfer process, therefore, be removed from its host, USB device on entirely useless. Today’s USB host in a general sense that PC. The use of PC, as the host, some applications have limitations. Therefore, the development of a USB host, embedded implementation of USB host, so that you can use USB devices from the PC machine is widely used in the future. The system uses the company’s LM1138 chip meritorious week as the main CPU, using Cypress’s SL811HS chip as the host controller chip, USB host system was constructed. System hardware design with low cost, power consumption, speed and so on. In software, the system completed a USB host controller driver, the core driver and user software is designed to complete the device enumeration well, configuration and other functions; system supports Mass Storage Class protocol, and the establishment of a streamlined FAT file system, you can complete the Flash card on the document read. In accordance with the thesis proposed method, realized the USB host system’s construction, on the development of embedded USB host, so that applications from the PC USB universal significance. Papers for the designed system, the USB host system were summarized and analyzed, and the development of embedded USB host prospected.
