Abstract

Due to the need to channel limited resources , as well as military communications , high-quality low-rate speech coding technology has very broad prospects for development , and of 2.4kbps and lower rate voice coding algorithm research has become a research hotspot in recent years . Mixed Excitation Linear Prediction ( MELP ) algorithm as a the 2.4kbps coding standard published by the U.S. Department of Defense , is not only a very good algorithm, and has great potential for development . The MELP algorithm parameter extraction , quantification, such as speech synthesis technology for the in-depth study and simulation to achieve a more traditional 2.4kbps vocoder - LPC - 10 algorithm ; and in the analysis and simulation , analysis the MELP algorithm for advantage. MELP algorithm on the basis of the original LPC coding , the application of the mixed excitation vector quantization approach has more advantages , and the use of new technologies such as adaptive spectrum enhancement , speech production model more in line with human pronunciation mechanism synthesized voice, so as to achieve the purpose to improve the quality of synthesized speech . The basis of in-depth analysis of the MELP algorithm , this paper presents the the MELP algorithm improved direction . Integer pitch detection algorithm has been improved , improved the integer pitch detection algorithm accuracy and reduces the computational complexity normalized autocorrelation function ; second is based on a multi-stage vector quantization system characteristics and LSF parameters characterized proposed an improved MELP algorithm , the encoding rate is reduced to 1.7kbps, and simulation experiments to obtain the quality and clarity of the synthesized speech .
