The paper detailed discusses the function of controlling hydrocarbonaccumulation which based on thickness of remaining strata and the relation betweensedimentary environments and tectonic movements in different stages. Influenced bythe multi-stages structure factors, the strata deficiency of Kongque River area is quiteserious. Different tectonic units show different situation of remaining stratadistribution. The sedimentary environments also vary unceasingly with tectonicmovements: the area occurred a large-scale ingression at Late Silurian and Cambrianperiod separately;during Middle-late Ordovician, the South Tianshan Ocean shrinkedto the south and caused the stress situation from tension to extrusion;Late Ordovician,the study area underwent an obvious regression process;since beginning of theSilurian, Tarim platform entered into Craton inside-extruding stage. In this period, thesedimentary environment were shore and epicontinental sea;Late Devonian -Carboniferous period, the sedimentary environment was paralic facies;in the JurassicPeriod,lake basin rose. As serious strata denudation and deficiency, unconformitywidely grew. The multi-stage tectonic movements caused wide development of fault,broken nose and fault block. The result of above tectonic movements formed varioustype of traps and favorable oil-gas migration systems. This paper focuses on both traptype and fault system. In study area, traps can be divided into four types: Tectonic trap,stratigraphic trap, lithological trap and complex trap. The faults have differentcharacteristics in different tectonic units. In the same tectonic unit, the faultsinfluenced by similar tectonism have similar characteristics.The Kongque River area has several exploration stratigraphic goals: theMesozoic, the Paleozoic including of Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian and Dong Riversandstone of the Carboniferous. According to the information of exploration andsource rock formation, combining the structure characteristics, the fault system andthe periods of hydrocarbon generating and expelling, the characters of accumulationconfiguring in different tectonic units has been respectively described. Finally, severalfavorable exploration targets have been predicted as well.
