Abstract

Civil structure defined for structural damage to bearing capacity reduction during use. The lower carrying capacity of the structure is usually attributed to the degradation of the components and connections or aging. Structural Health Monitoring (Structural Health Moni toring, SHM) is a civil structural damage detection strategies applied in the process. Structural health monitoring process is collected by the sensor array cycle dynamic response data to observe structural state. From the collection of the dynamic response of the structure to extract data damage sensitive characteristics, these characteristics through statistical analysis to determine the structure of the current health. Exterior visual inspection and some other non-destructive evaluation techniques, such as optical, X-ray, ultrasound and other traditional acoustic emission and non-contact measurement method gives only partial damage condition, for the detection of very large and complex structures are not practical, but unable to give a quantitative evaluation of structural damage. Structural vibration measurement has been applied to the structure of non-destructive evaluation, due to structural damage leading to structural changes affect the structural properties of the dynamic characteristics of the dynamic characteristics of the structure by the field of vibration testing can be obtained. Thus, by measuring the change in structural dynamic characteristics for structural damage identification is natural. Vibration test by using the method of the whole structure damage can be effectively monitored. Based on structural damage detection of vibration measurements originally used in the aerospace and maritime engineering field, in recent years this technology in the field of civil engineering has been widely studied, but the damage assessment of complex structures for civil engineers is still a challenge. Based on Modal Analysis civil structural health monitoring methods The basic idea is modal parameters (natural frequencies, mode shapes and modal damping) for structural physical characteristics (mass, damping and stiffness) function. Thus, structural changes in physical properties will cause a detectable change in the modal parameters. This paper focuses on structural vibration measurement detection, localization and quantitative description of the structural system damage methods for in-depth study. Articles in actual civil structure as the research object, around the vibration signal acquisition, analysis and processing methods, structural modal parameter extraction methods, and the use of different modal parameter identification of the various methods of structural damage condition to commence the study. On the various methods of structural vibration detection implementation complexity and credibility are discussed. Through a reinforced concrete beam structure vibration testing, the test methods, measurement data processing is described in detail, and gives the actual test results. Vibration-based structural damage detection techniques in practical engineering systems current and future application of the summary, and future research directions are discussed.
