Abstract


This article is the personality differences under the influence of the Chinese non-English majors association study of language learning strategies and test scores. At present, China has twenty-three million college students to learn English, constitute the world's largest English learning community. More than half of science and engineering students. Spent a lot of time to learn English, he (she) still feel that learning English is difficult. At the same time, the Ministry of Education, College English Syllabus revised assessment system had also been reformed. As soon as possible to change the mode of teaching is very urgent task to improve students' English skills. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to introduce students to the language learning strategies. For college students, learning strategies useful in the learning process, he (she) can consciously use to improve learning outcomes that can use, even after graduation. In fact, due to the impact of traditional Confucian culture, the character of the Chinese students their characteristics (some of the unique phenomenon of the English classroom to understand this regard). Personality influences the choice of learning strategies, which affects the learning effect. In the process of teaching English, teachers take into account these factors, teaching would be better. In order to reveal the relationship of language learning strategies and test scores in the personality differences under the influence of the non-English majors, the authors conducted a study, results of college English teaching reform enlightening. Involved in the investigation of Anhui Province, Hefei University of 216 three-year non-English majors. Subjects are randomly selected, they attended the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Eysenck preparation) and language learning strategies survey Table (prepared by Oxford), and participated in the January 2005 National CET exam. Through questionnaires and language testing, we learned that the subjects personality type, language learning strategy selection and language test scores. In the survey, using a multivariate analysis of variance analysis and unit variance process the data, trying to reveal the different personalities strategies and the relationship of language learning strategies. The analysis showed a statistically significant association between the different personalities strategies and language learning strategies. Compared to the introverted extroverts tend to use cognitive, emotional, social and metacognitive strategies. Pearson correlation coefficients to process the data, to understand the relationship between language learning strategies selection and test scores. The analysis showed statistically significant association, particularly cognitive, compensation, meta-cognitive, emotional and social strategy between language learning strategies selection and test scores.
