Abstract


Contemporary children living in highly developed mass media society , all kinds of information by means of communication penetrated into all aspects of children 's daily lives . Electronic media , especially television , in the process of growth and development of children , but also plays an important role . TV for children provide awareness and the ability to adapt to social and provides a very convenient , but not conducive to children watching flooded TV and harm to the physical and mental health of children in the nurture . Therefore , the study of television on children is increasingly becoming issues of common concern including television workers , educators , psychologists and sociologists have . Cultivation theory as a theory of the Effect of Mass Communication , nearly three decades continued to affect people for the representatives of the mass media to the TV . Unlike the general effect theory and quantitative research , cultivation theory reveals the subtle influence of long-term media audience cognitive level , the role of children provides an important theoretical tool for the study of television . Compared with an active interest in the Chinese scholars of other empirical studies of traditional effects theory , cultivation theory from a theoretical introduction to the empirical investigation is relatively weak , not a good fusion and learn from the study of children and television . So , I try with the cultivation theory to study the role of television on children , in order to broaden the scope of the study of the cultivation theory , provides a new theoretical perspective for Children and Television Studies . China gradually establish a scientific view of children , increasing respect for the rights of children , the study also has a strong sense of reality . This paper is divided into five parts discusses : The first part of this paper is the introduction and overview of the cultivation theory , as well as children with TV at home and abroad , scholars discussed in this study , as well as the author 's discussion purposes . The second part examines the relationship between children and television interaction . The argumentation children is the main significance of television as well as TV rewritten childhood . The third part of the interpretation of television on children 's acculturation . The chapter begins with the development of cultivation theory History comb, then explore the relationship between cognitive research .
