Abstract


The appearance of SA8000 standard symbolizes that humankind development is transiting from accumulation of capital and technology to human-oriented development and social accountability. Because of its moral and active feature, more and more countries, organizations and enterprises have accepted SA8000 standard. At the same time, it is also be utilized for trade protecting by some developed countries against developing Countries. Because the content of SA8000 standard focuses on labor standard in CSR field, it mainly influences the labor-intensive industries in developing countries. Hunan province depends on abundant labor resource,which is an emphatically standardized target of SA8000 standard. So, putting more efforts on SA8000 standard research, analyzing the economic impacts on Hunan foreign trade and searching corresponding measures, have become one of the important tasks of economic development.From this purpose, on the basis of all the preceding research work, By using the method which combines normative analysis with the empirical Analysis, widely occupy materials with the investigation to study, we analyze the influence of SA8000 standard in Hunan Province by utilizing International Trade Theory, theoretically study the influential mechanism on our exports, and seek to the countermeasures.This dissertation has five chapters. Chapter one is the preface, which elaborates the background, significance and relative foreign and domestic research status of this topic. Chapter two addresses the definition, background, content and characteristic of SA8000, and analyzes the developing status of it. Chapter three provides the argument by several economics theories, it analyses the reason that promotes SA8000 to implement. And the economic impacts of SA8000 standard. Chapter four discusses the influence of SA8000 standard on Hunan foreign trade, which including negative and positive two sides, it points out the main impact of SA8000 standard on the export enterprises for a short period, such as the scale for export will be limited as the entry into the international marker is more difficult, increase of the cost will weaken the competition ability, the labor cost will lower the attraction of the foreign capital. On the basis of above chapters and combining the situation of Hunan, both quantified analysis and empirical analysis are applied to disclose the implied relationship between labor standards and export. Chapter five puts forward some suggestions to answer above impacts, which is demonstrated from three angles, government, enterprise and industrial associations, from the macroscopic aspects, government should lead positively and enhance management, from the aspects of law, we should better the labor law; Industrial Associations should play a medium role positively; from the aspects of microscopic, our enterprises should change means of increase production.
