Jinding Hotel of Henan Business College is a new comprehensive hotel constructed in 2004, according to the criteria of 3-star hotel, with 50 million invested by Henan Business College. After a period of running, the problems in the hotel operating such as management in disorder, bad service, high room rates and low occupancy rate emerged, causing the serious waste of resources. Although the resources are state-owned, we should achieve the appreciation of fixed assets. In order to help with the development of the college, Jingding Hotel should be reformed completely, in which, the reasonable operating strategy is a guarantee.The thesis based on the essence and characteristics of hotel management and administration, analyzes the competition environment and in which the advantages and disadvantage owned by the hotel. The thesis analyzes Jingding Hotel with SWOT method as well, to make the situations being faced with and the competitive factors clear, to further lay the root for the developing strategy making and the choice of business positioning. Make the positioning of Jingding Hotel as a middle-grade business hotel for conference, and walk-in customer, "Economy, clean, safe, convenient" as its characteristics. According to the accurate positioning of the hotel, we should carry on strategic studies from these aspects:product, price, market developing, promotion and customer, to achieve the benefits on management. In order to make sure the goals achieved and the operating strategies carried on well, this thesis makes analyses from the following points:completing and perfecting of total productivity management; building scientific and reasonable organization, keeping the human resources security, offering first-class services, developing advanced corporate culture.The thesis adopts mainly the positive analysis method, combining theory with practice.
