With the development of economy and improvement of people life level, travel has become one of important life styles in China. In the process of tourism development, more and more researchers focus on characteristics of tourism market, tourist values and tourism preference from development of tourism resources. Case study on the Pearl Delta which is the richest zone in the South of China, the research analyses the whole tourism preference of the Pearl Delta, varieties of tourism preference of residents in different cities, relevance between resident demographic personalities and tourism preference, relevance in resident personalities with SPSS 14.0, based on investigation of tourism preference of residents of main cities in the Pearl Delta in 2004 and 2006, and deepens the research of tourism preference.The findings in the paper include three aspects, as following:(1) Defining tourism preference and analyzing characteristics of tourism preference from the former study on tourism preference.(2) Stating three influencing factors (age, education and income) and two non-influencing factors (sex and family) according to (?)he relevance between resident personalities (city, age, education, sex, income, vacation and family) and tourism preference (tourism times, tourism purposes, choice of tourism destination, weekend and weekend leisure).(3) Stating that the factors of city resident personalities (city, age, education, sex, income, vacation and family) in the Pearl Delta are independent factors according to the coefficient matrix of city resident personalities and KMO and Bartlett’s test.
