Abstract


The diabetic chronic cutaneous ulcer is a common and refractory disease, jeopardizing the health of many diabetics severely and taking from their quality of living. Topical treatment is one of the main methods, and Chinese medicine is rich in clinical experience on the wound healing. Skin Growth Promoting Ointment was a pure Chinese medicine prescription, which was composed by beeswax as a basic remedy. According to the vast amount of clinical researches, it was demonstrated that Skin Growth Promoting Ointment has remarkable therapeutic effects to chronic cutaneous ulcers of diabetics.This present study is to investigate whether Skin Growth Promoting Ointment(beeswax) can promote diabetic chronic cutaneous ulcer cicatrization and its mechanism.Purpose:Observe the effect of Skin Growth Promoting Ointment to diabetic chronic cutaneous ulcer and its mechanism, at the same to find a new way for treating the chronic cutaneous ulcer and provide the pharmacological basis to the exploiture of the ointment.Method:Thirty chronic cutaneous ulcer was divided into three groups (Skin Growth Promoting Ointment Group, rhEGF Group andLiquid Paraffin Group), ten cutaneous ulcer each group. The cutaneous ulcers were treated with Skin Growth Promoting Ointment(SGP), rhEGF or Matrix(Liquid Paraffin)respectively and at the same time were controlled blood sugar and infection.
