Abstract


Since 2004, China has had abundant cereals harvests for six consecutive years. Along with output climbing, food consumption has continued to grow in a tight food supply and demand balance. Although gross food consumption is also met, but the structure of it has been unable to meet China’s cereals consumption.From the point of view of the industry structure, although China’s grain consumption increased with rigidity, but the proportion has been falling. Feed grain consumption and industrial grain consumption increased for both from the volume and proportion, and the amount of seed grain is relatively stable. In order to meet feed cereals consumption, cereals consumption and industrial use is growing, while ensuring to meet the rations on the basis of consumer demand, to increase the feed cereals and industrial food production.From the point of view of the structure of variety, China’s cereals consumption accounts for the largest proportion of the varieties of rice, wheat and corn, the three main varieties of the consumption of total cereals consumption in China accounts for more than 80%, which accounted for about 35% of rice, wheat and account more than about 20%, and corn accounted for about 30%. In recent years, our people of soybean consumption and demand for coarse cereals consumption started to increase, especially with the people’s nutrition, diet requirements, food cereals are increasingly being moved to the table.From the point of view of regional structure, different regions of China’s food consumption patterns and structure are quite different, have their own characteristics. This reference to the State Statistical Yearbook divided the country into four regions, namely east, west, central and northeast regions, and from rations consumption, and feed cereals consumption, cereals consumption and industrial consumption of seed cereals are four aspects of the These four areas to conduct a comparative analysis of food consumption.From the point of view of micro-level of food consumption structure of residents, China’s per capita cereals consumption of residents gradually reduced consumption of meat and vegetables, fruit and custard into alternatives such as consumption gradually increased, while the requirements for nutritional meals and begun to focus on in our country’s population coarse cereals consumption. In this paper, Chinese residents ELES model of food consumption data were calculated based on the results of our population the marginal propensity to consume food, basic food needs of expenditure and income elasticity of demand is analyzed.Finally, this article expatiated on how to optimize the consumption structure of China’s food recommendations from the industry structure, product structure and population structure of food consumption.
