Abstract

Objective To approach the expression of Survivin in transitional cell carcinomo of renal pelvis and the relation to pathological classification、 staging、 lymphatic metastasis and prognosis, and the significance of expression of Survivin in cast-off cells in urine. Transitional cell carcinomo of renal pelvis is the common tumor of urinary system, early diagnosis and prompt treatment is the key point to improve prognosis. At present, the preoperative diagnosis is most dependent on imageology examination and cytological examination of urine. To establish quick、 specific、 nonvirulent detective method will be benefit to the early diagnosis of transitional cell carcinomo of renal pelvis, especially having important significance to monitor recurrence after treatment. Methods Cases were from hospital patients in urinary surgery of ShanDong Provincal Hospital from 1995 to 2005. 1、 83 samples of patients with transitional cell carcinomo of renal pelvis which were removed in operation were chosen as cases of experimental group,of which,51 cases were male,32 cases were female;the age were from 35 to 78,and the mean age was 58.6.According to the standard of WHO about pathologic classification of transitional cell carcinomo of renal pelvis, class I of which included 23 cases, class II included 42 cases, class III included 18 cases. In addition, 10 samples of patients with no tumor such as nephrohydrosis 、 renal duplication and so on were chosen as cases of control group.Fixed with formaldehyde solution of 10% ,samples were made to slices with thickness of 4μm after paraffin
