This thesis is based on the item subsidized by natural and scientific fund named as "the research on key technique of intelligent design system about sugarcane harvester based on knowledge", and also based on the achievement of our research group, it makes a research on the reasoning-machine of the intelligent design system of sugarcane harvester and the extraction and application of simulation knowledge. It also combines the repository, database, reasoning-machine, simulated result solution and evaluated module to make an intelligent design system with a unitive style. Reasoning-machine is the core of the intelligent design system, through which, according to the design requirement of users, the system reasons with the knowledge in the repository and provides the design project and the evaluation. Sequentially it can help designers to make research and development on the sugarcane harvester. In addition, simulated technique is an important instrument of the design of the modern machine product, the extraction and application of the simulation knowledge can effectively develop the system’s design ability.This thesis makes research on the general structure of the intelligent design system of sugarcane harvester and on the rule reasoning of simulation knowledge, and it confirms the reasoning’s direction and the strategy for the solution of conflict. With the "MS VC++" served as tool of system design, it compiles the reasoning program of the overall unit and the reasoning program of components for cutting sugarcane and peeling leaves. The extraction of the simulation knowledge can effectively expand the system’s repository and develop the system’s design ability. The thesis also makes research on the simulation knowledge’s characteristics and its extraction way, and it puts forward the module of virtual experiment platform, and based on which it achieves the extraction of two kinds of simulation knowledge.
