Abstract

Building materials burning behavior of materials evaluation is very important in the field of building fire requirements, the application of building materials in the building will be completely dependent on its combustion performance evaluation rating. Therefore, the world will develop building materials combustion performance evaluation methods and evaluation system, and China is no exception. The burning behavior of materials evaluation technology in the growing differences with the existing methods adopt the new technology, and new technologies will help to promote the use of flame retardant technology development and new technology. The papers on foam insulation as the object of study, Chinese the grading and European classification comparison, conventional method and the new principle of the new method are compared, to investigate the the real combustion characteristics of the material, the data from these studies will be adopted by the National Fire Database and provide a reference for the future revision of national laws and regulations. Composite combustion characteristics and safety evaluation studies of key scientific research projects involved in this paper comes from the Ministry of Public Security in 2003, Project No. 20038862601. This paper analyzes the methods and principles of building materials, in particular the study of the combustion characteristics of composite building materials, determined in accordance with the study of the combustion characteristics of oxygen consumption principle direction of the combustion heat release rate (HRR), the growth rate index (FIGRA) heat release (THR) for the evaluation parameters were analyzed to compare the current classification system, the European classification system. Thesis foam insulation materials for the study of the test object, the two major categories of materials including rubber insulation foam and extruded polystyrene foam. Using current tests and assessment and the European classification evaluation method to be tested separately, compare the difference between the two test results and phenomena, fire retardant treatment by physical methods of materials processing, in accordance with the requirements of the above two systems tested. Through a series of test data comparison, especially different reaction to fire performance of the material in the experiment, get a lot of meaningful conclusions. The paper only through SBI novel test methods in-depth papers on building materials combustion characteristics. Through a comparative study, the difference between the current classification of domestic and European grading, pointed out the need for us to improve their evaluation methods, the use of the new test system supported by oxygen consumption principle. Paper also targeted foam insulation, listed at the similarities of the two test system test data, reference data for future domestic modify European grading, modify domestic fire safety design requirements and specifications. Study found the new European test methods SBI specific application defects, because the European classification using new FIGRA index, the index is closely related to the same time, the error might be real combustion characteristics of the material to determine the cause.
