Understanding of the meaning of language is an important topic of linguistic research in both ancient and vibrant concern for many disciplines such as philosophy, psychology , linguistics . But how to study the significance of language , different scholars have different insights , opinions, rather than consensus . There are two major schools of : objectivism and empiricism . Objectively argue that the meaning of language exists in objective reality , language is only a performance objective and realistic understanding of the meaning of the symbols , language , language symbols is to establish the objective reality contact . Empiricists , the representative of the contemporary cognitive linguists ( research has become mainstream ) , that the significance is not fully exist in objective reality , but exist in a complex cognitive activity , psychological and reality the result . Understanding of the significance of the process is a complex cognitive process . This paper introduces a new semantic construct cognitive theory , that Fauconnier 's Conceptual Blending Theory , and applied to a common understanding of more complex linguistic phenomenon . Rhetoric , compound words , language structure , and the understanding of the discourse are inseparable from the psychological space mapping and composite . Strong explanatory power of the theory to prove the concept of integration is a very common cognitive activities , meaning construction has opened up broad prospects . The concept of integration as a general cognitive mechanisms are widely used in a variety of cognitive domains . The study is only the theory of language understanding an important part of the applied research . However , although the theory has many indisputable advantages , but as a new theory , there are still some shortcomings need to be further modified and improved . Finally, it should be pointed out that the theory of conceptual integration is still a great potential for development theory trend , because it opened up a whole new field of cognitive research . This is also the author studies the theory of the original intention .
