Abstract


Objective: This study was researched on physical form and genetic properties of Gansu Han , in order to have further research present situation of physical form and genetic properties in these people, to study relationship between the population of different Han nationality people and the relationship between ethnic minorities and Han nationality, to accumulate material on studying anthropology and to provide scientific basis for formulating relevant policy.Method: A total of 546 adults (male 268 example, female 280 cases) of Han nationality were observed and measured by cluster stratified random sampling, all the people live in Sishilipu township, Pingliang city and Fuqiang township , Wuwei city in Gansu Province. 33 measuring projects, 8 observation projects and 24 characteristic indices were included in this study and the results were analyzed.Result: 1.The physical observation projects: the frequences of eyefold of the upper eyelid was 65.9%; frequences of Mongolia fold was 52.6%; Nasal root height of men was mainly about medium type, women with low type and medium type were in the majority; Height of alae nasi was mostly medium; Upper lip skin height was mainly about medium height; Earlobe types with triangle were in the majority; Hair colour was mostly black. Eye colour was black brown and tan in the majority; skin color was mainly in yellow.2. Physical measurement project: the average stature was 166.4 cm for males and 155.2 cm for females, male somatotype of stature with high, medium and surpass-medium type was in a majority, female somatotype of stature with high, medium, low and sub-medium was in a majority. Length-breadth index of head of men was mostly medium type, Length-breadth index of head of women was mostly in a round head type; female and male were both platyopia type in morphological facial index, Height-breadth index of nose were in middle nasal type, Stautre-shoulder breadth index was tending to be broad shoulders type, Stature-crista iliaca breadth index was in wide pelvic; Rohrer index among men was medium in the majority, women were mainly tubby type ;BMI’s normal rate was 52.6%.3. 28 nationality clustering analysis showed that Han nationality in Gansu were togethered as a group with the Mongolian, Dawoer nationality, Ningxia Hui nationality and were named the northern groups.4. Head facial population genetics project: the frequence of inner vicinal plait was 52.6%; the frequence of Eyefold of the upper eyelid was 65.9%; the frequence of shovel type incisors was 62.6%, the frequence of bulge bridge of the nose was 40.8%; wide nostrils had a higher rates for 64.3%; Convex mandible rate was medium higher for 52.7%; earlobe rate was 54.6%; sharp type hair line of forehead was 52.7%; straight hair rate was 79.70%. The indicators were related to each other in these nine projects as follows, Mongoloid fold and nasal profile, eyefold of the upper eyelid and front tooth type (P < 0.01) , Mongoloid fold and eyefold of the upper eyelid , bridge of the nose side view and front tooth type, forehead hair piont and hair form (P < 0.05).5. Human population genetics project related to hands and feet: straight type thumb’s frequence was 88.1%; rate of palmar digital fomula was 83.2%; Nail type was 59.2% with a majority for length type; features of Pollical length had an frequence of 69.6%. Palmar digital fomula and Plantar digital formula were related to each other.6. Asymmetric behavior characteristic population genetics project: the frequence of handedness type R was 77.2%; the frequence of arm folding type L was 57.1%; the frequence of leg folding type R was 74.2%; the frequence of foot preference type R was 68.5% ; the frequence of stride type R was 52.6%.The related indicators of these six projects to each other as follow, Stride type and handedness, stride type and foot preference, handedness and leg folding, hand clasping and handedness , leg folding and foot preference. The frequence of type R was higher than type L in most indicators.7. Tongue moving types population genetics project: the frequence of tongue rolling was 63.2%; the frequence of tongue folding was 12.8%; the frequence of twisting tongue was 46.5%; the frequence of pointed tongue was 52%; the frequence of clover-leaf tongue was 3.3%. The indicators related of these five projects to each other as follow, tongue rolling and pointed tongue, tongue rolling and twisting tongue , twisting tongue and tongue folding , twisting tongue and pointed tongue, twisting tongue and clover-leaf tongue.Conclusion: 1.The people in Gansu Han nationality was in accord with the physical characteristics of Mongolian race and the physical features in north population of China.2. The stature somatotype of both female and male in Gansu Han nationality were mainly about high and medium. Medium was in the majority in male and pyknic type was in the majority in women bodily form of Rohrer indicator; overweight obesity rate in BMI indicator was higher. The headform of male were mainly medium headform, The headform of female were mostly a round head type, the facial contour of both male and female were platyopia type, the nose type was mostly medium nose type, stature was mainly about broad shoulder type and wide pelvic type.3. It had gender differences in the vast majority of physical projects.4. The right type was dominant in six asymmetric behavioral characteristics, the frequence of five tongue moving types was on the low side, portion of the indicators had correlationship each other in all of population genetics project.
