Abstract


Dispersed droplets in the continuous phase flow pattern in the liquid-liquid extraction process has an important influence on the mass transfer efficiency . Experimental 50mm × 50mm × 700mm square plexiglass extraction tower experiment to test the different physical system under different fillers apparent mass transfer unit height , the results show that : the novel combination of structured packing medium interfacial tension system , transfer quality performance from 6% to 22% higher than the mass transfer performance of the non - combination type packing ; while high interfacial tension system , a combination of structured packing mass transfer performance lower than the non - hybrid type filler . Using toluene / acetone / water and butyl acetate / acetone / water Mixtures droplet flow process simulation showing droplets - liquid film - droplets - liquid film ... drip film alternating current results with experimental observations consistent ; mass transfer efficiency , comparing different material systems under the same combination of fillers , the simulation results show that the interfacial tension of the Systems of higher mass transfer efficiency is lower , which is consistent with the experimental results .
