A knowledge management revolution, focused on the innovation of the organization model and management system, has been aroused by the Western developed countries, represented by America, since 1980s. Knowledge Management attaches utmost importance to knowledge sharing, innovation and tne strategy of corporate culture development.Entering the 21st century, the level of the global banking’s knowledge content is becoming higher and higher, and knowledge management is becoming one of the decisive factors to bank’s core competence. With the implementation of the policy of banking’s general opening up at the end of 2006, only the research ability and efficient financial innovation ability can make City commercial bank win the competition with the stated-owned commercial banks, foreign banks, and other commercial banks in our country, rather than the traditional business. So the city commercial banks in China have to establish a knowledge management to improve the knowledge content of the banking management.Knowledge management not only can manage the wisdom resources, but also can innovate in the management process. So this paper revolves the characteristics of knowledge management in banking, after analyzing the theory of knowledge management, including its history and relative research. Then, it mainly discusses the effects of knowledge management from three aspects, that is the market, technology and banker, and advances some comprehensive measures to establish the knowledge management in city commercial bank in China.
