Abstract


Container transportation is a modernized transport mode and it has been greatly developed based on its characteristics of swiftness, safety, convenience, economy and easily realizing of door to door transportation. It has been an important way to developing railway thorough freight service along with modern logistics quick development. Comparing the container transport abroad to ours, there still exists great gap. For example, it is not used much information technology in railway container transport; The business repetition leads to process disunity and low efficiency; Organization structure complexity of container stations results in various procedure when consignors transact container transportation. These shortages have deeply restrain the development of the logistics of railroad freight transportation and the railway container transport itself, making its carrying capacity increased slowly and the quota occupied reduces gradually. Therefore, it becomes essential to optimizing the business process and organization structure of the railway container stations. Thus it can quicken development of railway container transport.As an advanced theory and technology, BPR has come into being under the background of information technology (IT) and new theory of management production. It can improve company’s performance such as the indexes of cost, quality service and speed.By analyzing the problem existed in business process of China railway transport, the thesis constructs Petri-net models of the main business process of railway transport station and imitates the Petri-net models of delivering and arriving processes of door to door container transportation in Chengdu East Container Station to show the result of business process optimization on time index by using ExSpect (executable specification tool) software.BRP, IT and organization structure should be integrated. By analyzing the present Chinese railway container transport management information system (RCTMIS), the text put forward a new RCTMIS based on BPR and IT.With changing of business process and using of IT, it will bring changes in enterprise organization structure. Based on analyzing present organization structure of Chengdu East Container Station, the thesis makes up a new organization structure facing business process.
