Abstract


The irony is unique linguistic phenomenon . The true meaning of the literal meaning of the words of the speaker are inconsistent , even opposite . The speaker generates psychological perception irony of irony by the speaker with ordinary verbal communication is more complex . This paper aims to study the process and the rule of irony communicative psychological operations . The irony Communication is divided into two phases: the generation phase of the irony of the speaker and the recipient's ironic perception phase , and the two stage study . This paper consists of five chapters . The first chapter , leads to the subject of the irony . By examining the British definition of irony , the irony attributes described further irony classification study object of this article irony to make defined scope . The second chapter reviews and comments on previous research done on the irony . Mainly rhetoric , pragmatics (especially cognitive pragmatics ) , of psycholinguistics three genre theory , and point out their limitations respectively . Of the ironic generation and understanding from the point of view of psycholinguistics interpretation of study is a useful complement to existing irony .
