Treatment of Epithelial Herps Simplex Keratitis by Combination of Minimal Dexamethasone and Acyclovir

Abstract


Objective : To observe the trace of dexamethasone combined efficacy of acyclovir treatment of epithelial herpes simplex virus keratitis . Methods : 40 cases of epithelial herpes simplex virus keratitis newly diagnosed order divided into two groups , with 20 cases each . The treatment group received 0.1 % acyclovir eye drops q2h, plus 0.001% dexamethasone eye drops tid, daily staining and slit lamp examination . If corneal ulcers aggravated disable dexamethasone eye drops ; 0.1% in control group was given acyclovir eye drops q2h daily staining slit lamp examination . Results: The cure rate of 100% , the control group was 80 % (P <0.05) . Treatment group, the average cure days to 7.1 days in the control group average cure a number of days to 14 days , P <0.001 . Treatment group did not find any complications . Conclusion : 0.001% dexamethasone combined with acyclovir treatment of epithelial herpes simplex virus keratitis can improve the cure rate and shorten the average cure days .
