Abstract


Objective To investigate PTEN protein expressions in transitional cellcarcinoma(TCC) and tissues surrounding of TCC,and toevaluate their significance in biological behavior of thetumor.Methods: 58 cases of TCC and 38 cases of tissue surrouding TCC wereexperimented with immunohistochemistry .Results: The positive rate of PTEN protein in TCC(46%) was lower than that in normal bladder mucosa and tissue surrounding TCC (P<0.01).With the progress of the tumor grade and clinical stage , the positive rate of PTEN protein expressions in TCC decreased . Conclusion: The abnormal expression of PTEN gene played animportant role in the genesis and progression of TCC.
