Abstract


The self-concept of their own, their own understanding and their own social relations with others. Since the American psychologist Rogers of the theory of the \Since the 1970s, with the development of society and the socialization of children ever-expanding field of research, the development of children's social behavior increasingly widespread concern of the countries psychologist, developmental psychology, social psychology and many other is an important topic in the field of interdisciplinary research. Although many psychologists from different points of view of self-concept and social behavior problems extensive research and accumulated considerable wealth of information, but how it affects the behavior and activities of the people paid insufficient attention to the level of development of the person's self-concept. This study sought to predecessors have been based on the study, to junior high school students for the study investigated the characteristics of junior high school students the development of self-concept and social behavior, to explore the relationship between self-concept and social behavior, to explore the development of self-concept role in the development of social behavior, in order to provide some useful information for the training of junior high school students a positive self-concept, and promote the healthy development of their social behavior. In this study, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, select Taiyuan two ordinary schools, 572 junior high school students for the test. Quantitative research to take the survey method, Marsh et al 1984 \self-concept, the development of social behavior. The results showed that: 1, there are age differences in self - concept, the junior high school's self-concept and continue to develop with increasing age. First grade to the development of the Grade Two relatively fast compared to the slow development of the Grade Two to Grade Three. Urban self-concept subscale scores and total scores were higher than rural students, but there is no significant difference. While there was no significant gender differences. 2, the social behavior of the junior high school age difference, the upward trend from the first to the Grade Two, Grade Two to Grade Three somewhat lower, but still higher than the first grade. Junior high scores on the subscales of the self-concept and their social behavior into positive correlation, which reflects the self-concept of different factors have a different impact on social behavior. Qualitative depth interviews, the students elect day, two days, three days, six separate interviews. Found in the interviews, the level of development of the self-concept has a significant impact on the development of their social behavior, and play different roles at different stages in its development. The more positive self-concept, the more likely to promote the development of social behavior. The last part of this study is to make recommendations to the vast number of educators and parents, a new high level of awareness and focus on training young people a positive self-concept, in order to promote the healthy development of their social behavior.
